Last year, the three-way upgraded the X from Speedflow to Speedportal. As the company's leading speed-focused football boot, X is bringing you a more dynamic football experience. The X Speedportal.1 FG features Speedframe 2.0 soleplate, featuring the popular carbon fiber material and aggressive arrow-shaped studs, aiming to provide a stronger sense of speed. The X Speedportal.1 utilizes Speedskin, a thin, coated fabric, on the upper. Raised textures on the medial and lateral toeboxes enhance ball feel. The X Speedportal.1 also incorporates the new Stability Wing technology, a pair of wings positioned externally on the heel, for enhanced lockdown.

I tested the X Speedportal.1 FG on a synthetic grass pitch. The arch area felt tight, and even with the laces, it still felt a bit tight after loosening. As for the toe box, I found it had ample room, giving me a comfortable feel for playing football, neither too loose nor too tight.

Among these various aspects, I'm most satisfied with the speed feel of the X Speedportal.1 FG. The arrow-shaped stud design provides enhanced grip, and the carbon fiber sole provides enhanced rebound. I also love the dribbling feel of the X Speedportal.1 FG. The lightweight design and thin upper significantly enhance its agility. During my testing on artificial grass, the boots' grip was exceptional. If I play on artificial grass for extended periods, I'd opt for the AG boots with their short, round studs. Furthermore, the X Speedportal.1 FG's lockdown is excellent, with the Stability Wing design keeping the ankle securely in place.

Shooting is another area where the X Speedportal.1 FG stands out. The Speedskin fabric on the Boot's upper is thinner yet slightly stiffer, a material I've always preferred because it offers greater resilience and creates a close connection between the foot and the ball. Furthermore, the X Speedportal.1 FG allows me to hit some of the more elusive shots without having to open the shoe. I find the X Speedportal.1 easily captures these shots, resulting in an ideal sense of power. The Boot also features raised texture on the medial and lateral sides of the toe box, enhancing the feel of the shot. Overall, shots from the inside of the foot with the X Speedportal.1 FG are more powerful, as the friction created by the texture is less noticeable.

The X-Speedportal.1 FG offers an above-average feel for ball control, which is ideal for a non-leather material. The boot's material isn't too sticky or too slippery, and the raised texture gives it just the right feel. The X-Speedportal.1 FG makes it easy to control the ball, and since no special materials are used on the upper, the feel is quite natural. Of course, leather-wearing players may not appreciate this type of ball feel.

The X Speedportal.1 FG is weaker in both long and short passes, but of course, it performs well in all other areas. For short passes, the X Speedportal.1 FG feels smooth, and the thinner, less rigid upper material enhances power. As for long passes, I need time to adjust. Initially, my long-pass performance is average, with ample power but a slight lack of feel. However, this quality will improve over time. I prefer the X Speedportal.1 FG for mid-range passes, thanks to the nub on the inside of the toe box, which provides a better feel for the ball.

Overall, the X Speedportal.1 FG is a decent speed-oriented boot, with average to above-average performance across most conditions. However, comfort is a key area where the X Speedportal.1 FG could use some improvement, particularly in the sock-like tongue over the arch. I believe this boot could receive a higher rating if only a slight loosening were achieved. This is also likely why the X Speedportal.1 from Max differs from other popular boots in that it features a folding tongue, a design that we believe will provide a more comfortable fit.

As for the size, Axe believes that the X Speedportal.1 FG is neither too big nor too small, and everyone only needs to choose their normal size. As for the shoe shape, Axe believes that it is suitable for players with medium feet.
