Last year, the Tiempo was upgraded from its eighth to ninth generation, offering a wide selection of stunning colorways. As part of Nike's kangaroo leather boot series, the Tiempo has consistently maintained its traditional design while incorporating advanced technology to create a premium pair of genuine leather boots. With the Tiempo having undergone another upgrade, it's natural for us to test the performance of these boots. Thanks again to @hkgballboot for providing the boots, allowing us to test different boots abroad. This time, we're testing the top-of-the-line Elite version of the Tiempo 9, featuring artificial grass AG studs.

Nike describes the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite as the lightest of the Tiempo shoes. The Tiempo Legend 9 Elite utilizes kangaroo leather, a stitch-free technology that applies the leather to the wave boot. Foam material is also used on the toe box and medial side of the wave boot, featuring slight ridges and a fine-point texture to enhance the ball feel. The tongue of the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite features a mesh-like material, designed to provide comfort and breathability. The insole also incorporates shock-absorbing material for a more comfortable experience. As for the studs, as this is the AG version, they use shorter, denser, round studs.

Having played several matches in the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite, Axel is most pleased with the ball feel. After all, the Tiempo is Nike's flagship shoe, featuring the traditional feel of a kangaroo leather ball. Axel believes the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite's ball control is of high quality. The seamless kangaroo leather material provides excellent ball control, while the subtle texture on the toe box and medial side further enhances the ball feel. This is especially true for mid- and long-distance passes, where the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite makes it easier to control the ball, while the raised Foam material also provides a minimal amount of force dissipation.

I'm also very pleased with the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite's performance in both long and short passes. For short passes on the inside of the foot, the kangaroo leather, combined with Foam and a dotted texture, provides a more stable delivery.

As for long passes, the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite performed more obviously. The more refined shoe shape also made it more difficult for the Kangaroo Pippo Boot to pass the ball, and the outstanding ball feel made it easier to cut the ball to the desired place. In addition, the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite also made it easier to make some softer long passes.

As for shooting, the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite requires time to break in, and the initial feel is inferior to the Flyknit Boot. The kangaroo leather needs time to integrate with the sole of the foot. However, over time, the quality of my shots will improve. I particularly enjoy using the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite for instep shots, as the kangaroo leather combined with the Boot's special medial design provides a high-quality feel. Furthermore, the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite's medial side provides just the right amount of friction, allowing my shots to curve clearly and maintain power. As for instep shots, the power feels above average, and with time, I'll be able to achieve some effective instep shots.

In terms of dribbling, I think the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite offers a very comfortable feel, and the AG stud sole provides just the right amount of flexibility and grip, making dribbling comfortable on artificial grass. The AG studs are short and round, making them more suitable for artificial grass than the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite's FG studs. After all, the FG studs are longer and have a different shape, while the AG short and round studs are just right, reducing the risk of injury. I think the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite is relatively light for kangaroo leather, but it's definitely not as fast as the Mercurial and X-wave boots.

Regarding the shoe's fit, I think the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite is more flattering. However, because it's made of kangaroo leather, it will blend in with the foot over time. I think it's suitable for most people, unless you have wide or extra-wide feet. Regarding sizing, I think the Tiempo Legend 9 Elite doesn't run too big or too small, so you should be able to choose your normal size.
